Krieger Scientific was built by people with decades of experience. Led by industry experts.
Life Science organizations deserve a better partner for compliance services and solutions. One that meets them wherever they are, brings a complete picture to every engagement, and shares ownership of the outcome.
Krieger Scientific was built to be that partner.
Why we exist
Life sciences organizations operate in one of the most demanding regulatory environments in the world. The assets, systems, and processes that support compliant research and development, operations, and production require ongoing expertise in calibration, validation, maintenance, qualification, and related areas. Most organizations manage that complexity through a combination of internal teams, vendors, and consultants, each handling a fraction of the compliance burden.
Organizations come to Krieger for different reasons. Some need resources that their internal team cannot provide. Some have vendors who are not delivering. Some have a compliance need that requires experienced external support, whether for calibration, CQV, maintenance, asset management, or systems implementation. And some simply have a gap they need to close. Krieger is built to serve life sciences organizations wherever that need exists.
We have the capabilities and the experience.
Krieger was built to serve life sciences organizations wherever their needs lie. Whether you are filling a gap, building a program from the ground up, scaling an existing operation, or bringing in expertise your team does not have internally, we have the capabilities and the experience to help. We understand the full asset lifecycle, from procurement through decommissioning, and that knowledge informs everything we do. The model is bespoke. The accountability is not.

How we work
Where your team ends, our team begins.
We do not have a standard package. We have a model.
Every engagement starts with understanding your needs: your assets, your compliance obligations, your gaps, and your goals. We listen, we collaborate, we understand, we plan and we execute. One service or several. A defined project or ongoing support. We do not sell you more than the situation calls for.
What does not change is the standard of accountability. We say what we are going to do. We document it. We do it. And we stay engaged through successful implementation.
The people
Krieger Scientific is a founder-led firm.
The experience that built this company is the experience running it.

Joseph C. Morwald
Founder and CEO
Joe Morwald spent 35 years inside the life sciences industry before founding Krieger Scientific, working across life sciences organizations in the field and in regulated environments. He has seen what works, what does not, and what the difference looks like when a service partner actually understands the full scope of what a life sciences operation requires.
He founded Krieger because he believed the industry deserved a better model: one built around the client’s actual needs, not around a vendor’s preferred way of packaging services. This is a founder-led company, and Joe is hands-on in the work. When Krieger brings people in, they are people Joe knows and trusts, held to the same standards he holds himself to. We bring deep relationships across the industry, including established partnerships throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe for clients with international programs.

Alan W. Garcia
Director of Asset Management and Relocations
Alan Garcia has spent more than two decades helping life sciences organizations manage their most complex operational challenges, moving, managing, and optimizing critical laboratory and manufacturing assets at scale. His career includes more than fifteen years at PerkinElmer in progressively senior roles spanning global laboratory relocations, professional services, and strategic project management, where he oversaw portfolios representing tens of millions of dollars in assets and led compliance-focused solutions for enterprise clients across North America and internationally. Most recently, he served as Director of Business Development for Asset Compliance Solutions at Ellab, where he led growth and positioning of asset management services across the life sciences sector.
Alan joins Krieger Scientific as Director of Asset Management and Relocations, bringing both the technical depth and the operational experience to lead one of the firm’s core and fastest-growing service areas. His approach is client-focused and lifecycle-minded, the same philosophy that defines how Krieger works across every engagement.
Outside of work, Alan is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and holds an MBA in Global Business Management and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He is based in Delaware.

Justin Kane
Head of People
Justin Kane has spent his career helping companies grow by finding exceptional people and building high-performing teams. In 2012, he founded NextBridge Search, an executive search and talent advisory firm that has partnered with founders, CEOs, and leadership teams across life sciences and technology. Over the past two decades, he has advised business leaders on one of the most consequential decisions they make: who to hire. Through the process, he has gained a front-row seat to how great companies and the cultures that sustain them are actually built.
Justin joins Krieger Scientific as Head of People with a mandate to build, not maintain. He leads talent acquisition, employee development, organizational strategy, and the people infrastructure that will support the company’s growth. After years of helping organizations build exceptional teams from the outside, he now has the opportunity to help build one from within.
Outside of work, Justin is deeply involved in hockey as a coach and NCAA referee, roles that continue to reinforce the values of preparation, teamwork, resilience, and accountability that guide his professional life. He lives in Connecticut with his wife Cindy, their son Eli, who will join the men’s golf team at Hood College this fall, and the family’s English Setter, Spot.

Drew Deeter
Head of Marketing and Communications
Drew Deeter brings more than 30 years of executive-level marketing and communications experience to Krieger Scientific, with deep roots in life sciences. His background spans healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biopharma, and medical device: sectors where clear communication and regulatory awareness are not optional.
Over 25 years leading DeeterUSA, Drew developed and executed integrated communications programs for organizations navigating growth, transition, and high-stakes moments. His work has been recognized in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and the New York Times. He has been named to Marquis Who’s Who in America and received a PR News Platinum Award for campaign excellence.
Drew ensures that the right people know what Krieger does, how we do it, and why it matters. That is a different job than what most marketing functions do, and it takes someone who already understands the industry to do it well.
